	John O'Groats - Situated at the North-East tip of Caithness, John O'Groats is famous throughout the UK and beyond as the starting or finishing point for many end-to-end marathons which have captured the public's imagination throughout the years. Visitors to Caithness will often make the trip to John O'Groats just to say they've made it to the "End of the Road".

	Castle of Mey - Located about 5 miles east of John O'Groats, the Castle of Mey was the much loved northern retreat of the late Queen Elizabeth, The Queen Mother for half a century. The Castle is now owned by the Queen Elizabeth Castle of Mey Trust and is open to the public during the summer tourist season.

	Thurso - Is the most notherly town on the British Mainland and has a population of around 10,000. Thurso was founded over 10 centuries ago by Viking earls and was first names Torssa (Thor's River) after the Norse god of war. Thurso has a number of busy pubs, restaurants, and High Steet shops which is well worth a visit.

	Wick - The most notherly town on the east coast of Britain, Wick is the historic county town of Caithness, and remains to this day the administrative centre of the county. A seetlement at Wick dates back to Viking times. In the 19th Century Wick was established as Europe's largest Herring port. In its heyday a fleet of 1,000 fishing boats were based at the harbour.
