The Harpsdale Fishery Park
(Open 9am to 10pm each day of Scottish Meeting)

Harpsdale Fishery Park, the most northernly still water fishery on mainland Britain, is situated approximately 10 miles south of Thurso along the B870. It has been developed, over several years, from an existing marsh and is constantly fed by a small burn, which governs the depths of the pools thus providing an excellent habitat for the stock.

The Park is approximately 4.5 acres in size and divided into two pools The North and South with some of their islands linked together by bridges. The North Pool is regularly stocked with Rainbow, Blue-Rainbow, Char and Brook with sizes ranging from 1.5lbs to a staggering 14lbs.

The site is easily accessible, being only a short stroll from the car parking area, and provides facilities for shelter, making a brew or even preparing a barbecue.

When fishing the North Pool, for a modest £8.00 fee and 2 hours of sport, one fish can be caught and release of further fish is then permitted for remaining period of time. However, when fishing the South Pool - £10.00 for 2 hours - no catch and release is allowed, but once limit is reached movement to the North Pool is required for the remaining period.

For Scottish Open Rifle competitors and their families the hire charges for rods and lures are waived between Sat 2nd and Friday 8th July.
